During the fall break of eighth grade I shadowed someone at Foothill and at Ventura High. At Foothill I shadowed my sister, and I shadowed a family friend at Ventura High. To me Ventura High was big and unfriendly school, and foothill, seemed smaller with friendlier people. The classes at Ventura High seemed boring, but the classes at foothill were better and more interesting. The obvious choice was to go to foothill.
I really wanted to go to a fun school. I wanted to go to the big school with a lot of people. Where I would be able to stay friends with all of my old friends and make a lot of new friends. My heart told me that I should go to Ventura and have a lot of fun. Go to the bigger school, and decrease my chance of going to a good college or college at all, so that I would have a more fun four years at high school. My head told me that it would not be worth it to go to average high school, so that I would have more fun. That to go to a better high school was to have a better life after high school. So I went with what I thought was truly right.
I chose Foothill, because out off all my choices Foothill was the best. It was far better academically then any other school I was able to go to. It was a big difference in size compared to the other public schools in Ventura. Though it was a blue ribbon school, and one of the best public schools in California. Ventura, Buena, Oxnard, Bonnie all of these schools are average, I didn’t want to go to an average high school. I wanted to go to a school that would academically put me a head of the other students in the country. Foothill was that school, it might had have been a smaller school, with some very unusual students, but it was the best school that I was able to attend.
Foothill is a great school, so I choose to go here. I am happy with everything I have seen at foothill. So far he classes are interesting, and the school seems just as fun as any other high school. Hopefully I feel this way for the rest of the time I am in high school, and don’t regret my decision to come to Foothill.
